The Barn - Canvas Wall Print

There is a barn in the Catskills that has held my attention for as long as I can remember. Built from antique Japanese wood, weathered and wise, it stands beside my aunt and uncle's farmhouse at the edge of one of the most remote stretches of the mountains. In summer, when the sun descends and the golden hour settles over the hills, the deep red wood comes alive with a warmth that feels almost otherworldly — like light you could reach out and hold.

This is that barn. This painting.

Out here, away from the noise and the glow of the modern world, the night sky is among the darkest in the region. The air is cleaner, sharper. And somehow, the light itself seems to carry more weight — more presence, more spirit. I painted this to capture that feeling: the sacred stillness of a summer evening, the way ancient wood catches the sun, and the quiet magic of a place untouched by time.
